Do you often find yourself worrying about things that have happened or worrying about bad things that might have happened? Do you find these thoughts are really not thoughts that you want to be having with yourself?
Living in the present means that you are not worrying about the past and what might happen in the future. It means enjoying the moment and what is happening right now. Worrying about the past and future will only rob you from living and what is happening right now.
Here's how cycling can help you live in the present moment!
What ever the weather always start each ride with a positive attitude.
It forces you to be free from unwanted possessions, only take what is needed for your ride. Having extra baggage and weight will only slow you down
Take in and experience the world around you. Do you notice cycling in bad weather can be a great experience and you feel alive from it?
Have goals, but be present with them in every moment. Set yourself challenges and put in the hard work now to ensure you get there.
Don't dwell on past performances and put yourself down if you are not having a great day on the bike. Trust in the process and remind yourself tomorrow will bring another day.
Have awareness of how your body if feeling, free from judgement and take the appropriate action. If you are tired, take a rest day.
You get to understand and experience suffering and also give yourself the confidence that it will pass.
