We are always forced to look at our goals for the future, but we can gain a lot of clarity and aim for both realistic and motivational goals by reflecting on what we have achieved recently, things that we still have unfinished business with and what we feel motivated to pursue in the future.
Reflecting on your year
It's great to look at the stats, have you cycled further this year than before, have you improved times on climbs? Have you completed any events for the first time? Have you cycled to different places? What skills have you improved on?
Also, it's great to think about more emotional side of things, how how you built up your confidence and how have you done things that you previously would not have the confidence to do.
What you enjoyed and gained the most from
It is great to consider what meant the most to you. What did you gain the most level of satisfaction from? Was it doing a certain event or enjoying an experience with others and feeling strong? Was it setting that PB?
How will you plan to make 2025 the strongest yet?
Reflect on what you want to improve on, do you want to set some distance goals to help you get out on your bike more? Is there an event you want to train for that is going to challenge you? Are you going to get faster on hills?
To have a goal is the first step... now it's time to make a plan!
